What is Popup Boost?
Popup Boost is a Shopify app that helps merchants grow their email list and drive sales through interactive on-site campaigns like spin-to-win wheels. You can target the right visitors, set smart triggers, and fully customize the design — all without writing any code.
How do I control how often a visitor wins a prize?
Each slice has a weight value — the higher the weight, the more likely it is to land. A slice with weight 50 is five times more likely to win than one with weight 10, so you can make big prizes rare and smaller rewards more common.
Can I show the spin wheel only to new visitors?
Yes. In your campaign's Display settings, set the Audience to Visitors only so the popup only shows to guests who aren't logged in. This is ideal for first-purchase discounts you don't want existing customers to see.
How do I stop the popup from showing to my own team?
Go to Display settings and add your office or team IP addresses under IP Restriction. Any visitor coming from those IPs will never see the popup.
When should I use exit intent vs. time delay?
Exit intent is best when you want to recover abandoning visitors without interrupting their browsing — it only fires when someone is about to leave. Time delay is better for engaging visitors who are actively reading, giving them a moment to get interested before the popup appears.
Do I have to collect an email address?
Email is required if you plan to send discount codes by email, but you can disable the form entirely — visitors then spin with a single button click, no fields shown. You can also optionally collect name and phone number alongside the email.
Can I block disposable email addresses?
Yes. In Form settings, enable Block disposable/temporary emails to filter out addresses from services like Tempmail or Guerrilla Mail, keeping your subscriber list clean.
What seasonal templates are available?
Ready-to-use templates include Halloween, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and more. Templates come with pre-built colors, copy, and slice suggestions that you can use as-is or fully customize.
Can I show different wheels to different customers?
Yes — use the Audience setting to target logged-in customers separately from guests, and use page targeting rules to control exactly which pages each campaign appears on.
What is the teaser?
The teaser is a small tab or button that stays visible on the edge of the screen after the main popup is dismissed. It keeps your offer accessible without forcing the popup on the visitor again, and you can customize its text and position per campaign.
